Observation

2)b)i) There were window blinds on the windows in the playroom that had pull cords and inner cords capable of forming a loop and posing a risk of strangulation to children. The window blinds had not been secured or properly retrofitted in a manner that eliminates the formation of loops. 2)c) There was a cable type cord hanging from the shelf the television is on that was accessible to children. There was vinyl tacked over it with a thumbtack, but this would not be sufficient to secure the cord and keep it from posing a hazard. 2)c) The kitchenette area in the playroom had a safety gate that was not securely mounted and a child was observed pushing over and moving the gate, gaining access to the kitchenette. The cord to the crock pot was hanging down from the outlet in this area and was accessible to children. 3)b) Because the gate was not secure in the kitchenette area and the crock pot was accessible and in use/hot, this appliance would pose a hazard of burning a child if they pulled it down with the hot food in it. 3)d) The safety latch on the clothes dryer was not secured, and the dryer poses an entrapment hazard to children. It is accessible to children in the bathroom and the older preschoolers who use the bathroom independently would not be actively supervised when using the bathroom.
